I'm feeling very isolated as I write this over the weekend to be delivered to you on Tuesday morning. I was supposed to be at the Sauder Village February Hook-in right now! This is the first time they cancelled for weather. All we had to do is get there. If we got snowed in, oh well, no problem. Instead, the snow came a bit early.
I don't mind being alone. I do need to step away from time to time to recharge my batteries, so that makes me an introvert, but I love rug hooking gatherings. I always get inspired or learn something new. Recently I watched this TED talk from Prague.
Barbara Sher does a great job of illustrating how through connections, we can do anything. Let's apply that to rug hooking. Looking to create something, but you don't know how? Follow her method.
I wish _________ but I need ___________.
Post it in Facebook, ask it during the online hook-ins or during Office Hours. We've made some amazing connections so far.
I'm a firm believer if you can think it, you can do it. Now you have a framework on how to ask for it.
I need to increase my business to cover some medical bills. I need exposure to rug hookers who don't know about me.
Do you have a friend or a group where you can share these emails? New people can join the email list here. Or share my free Youtube videos or share your experience with my online courses or membership. As a thank you for passing the word along, please reply to this email so I can send you a link to the free pattern above.
The online hook-ins are free and open to the public. If you are nervous about appearing on camera, put a sticky note over the camera. Then, when you are ready to be on camera, you just have to remove the post-it. Low tech and easy.
Have someone come over in person and watch -- you can figure this out together, right?
Wednesdays and Saturdays at 4pm, eastern
In case you missed the email...... I am unable to host videos at all today. We've had another death in the family. I am with my family.
Sunday, Feb 13 from 3-6pm is the free live Graphic Q&A. Don't know what Graphic is? Come and see if the course will work for you. Are you stuck? Come and ask your questions. This is a chance for me to see where I need to take the course and to address what you have questions about.
Graphic is my preferred program for creating new designs and planning rugs. It is not just for designers!
Members of The Rug Hooking Journey will see the link at the top of the Dashboard now. If you are a member of the Graphic Course, but not a member of TRHJ, go to the course and the link is on the first page of the course.

I am still feeling very weak but I think I can rally tonight for Office Hours only. I should be back up to speed next week. VOW Classes While I think I have the strength for Office Hours, the VOW classes are much more demanding and back to back. I'd rather delay the classes and do a good job than muddle...
I've tried to be optimistic, but I am still under the weather and will not be able to teach during the next few days. Jessica has been in all three VOW (Virtual Online Workshops) with me and has attended almost all Office Hours and Live! Lessons since Covid happened. She has heard most of my lessons more than once. If she cannot answer a...
